Kharghar

Encircled by lush green mountains from all sides,Kharghar in Navi Mumbai is no less than a hill station in the rains . While the area was considered difficult to access a few years ago, its recent in crease in well-planned infrastructure is making it a favourite among Mumbaikars

Greenery and serenity is what attracts buyers to Kharghar.

Kharghar is located off the Panvel Express Highway and is adjacent to the Mumbai-Pune highway at a less-than-two-house drive from the heart of Mumbai city. Local trains of the Harbour Line in the Central Railway ply between Kharghar and Mumbai CST stations and the Western line is connected through the Wadala station, The place is easily approachable from Pune, the other major city of the state. Within the suburb, Navi Mumbai Muncipal Transport facilities are avaibale and buses ply frequently between CBD Belapur station and sectors within the suburb.

The Area started developing in 1995 and now its boasts of growing infrastructure with the Hiranandani complex, Rail Vihar, Raghunath Vihar, Kendriya Vihar, Jalvayu Vihar housing a population of one to one and a half lakh residents and providing all basic amenities to them. This place is already host to a number of ready and under-construction projects using modern technology (Spaghetti, for instance, is being constructed with German technology), both in the commercial and residential segments.

Kharghar has departmental and general stores that take care of daily necessities. For heavy shopping, residents hop down to Vashi, which is a 25-minute drive through the Panvel Express Highway . Kharghar is not, however, a food lover's paradise; except for a couple of restaurants, the place has little to offer.

On the educational front kharghar is very well developed. There are good schools like Ryan International, Appejay, Bal Bharati School it also has a variety of colleges like the Bharti Vidyapeet College of Engineering, National Institute of Fashion Technology, ITM, Institute of Mechanical Engineering , Yerla Medical College and the recently shifted A.C. Patil College of Engineering.

Kharghar is a nature lovers' delight, having loads of open space and greenery everywhere. A gargantuan fountain adorns the area, a stroll in the evening refreshes you, and the waterfall at Pandavkhada is heaven for picnic lovers and is visited by people from all over Mumbai in the rainy season.
